The Atari 8 bit series encompasses the Atari 400, 800, XL, and XE models, dating from the late 70s upto the early 90s. These computers had their golden age in the US from 1979 to 1984 and enjoyed a Silver age in Poland, Czechoslovakia and the Eastern Bloc in 86 to 97.
The games play very well in CoinOPS and are often better than the C64 conversion where available. However many of the early games have little advance in terms of gameplay over Atari VCS games. Creating this pack gave me a much better understanding of the early games of the US home computer era. It's a shame that there is no Apple II core available in CoinOPS since that platform has an even wider array of titles and genres.
